St. Albert Beauty Queen Shines Light on Eating Disorders

The St. Albertan is a finalist in the Miss Teen Alberta-World beauty competition. She competed against 45 other delegates on Feb. 20. Vanessa Peynenburg, 16, is looking to speak with students in schools in the St. Albert to help them understand what eating disorders are and to share where they can find help. She’s hoping that in bringing the issue to the forefront, she can help girls and young women live healthier lives.
“I said, from the beginning, that if I could help one girl feel better about herself, to be inspired in some way, then I know that I’ve done enough in doing this,” Peynenburg said.
